The brief at Lee Chapel began simply enough: the clients wanted more usable terrace space and a garden they would spend more time in. What followed was a generous, family-friendly scheme with a strong sense of movement, shaped around sweeping curves, pale stone and a more elegant connection between house and lawn.

The existing pond was removed to make the garden safer for young grandchildren, with water reintroduced in a more controlled and sculptural way. A bespoke raised water feature became the centrepiece of the terrace, bringing sound, reflection and interest without the worry of open water at ground level.

Built-in seating and an exterior fireplace helped turn the terrace into a proper outdoor room, somewhere to sit, gather and enjoy the garden into the evening. The finished space feels relaxed and practical, but with enough theatre to make it memorable.
