The frontage was tired when we arrived, so the work began with the refurbishment of the main approach and front steps. We used a light-coloured bullnosed sandstone to bring a softer, more refined finish to the entrance, then framed the new planting with pre-aged oak sleeper edging for a natural, settled look.
Deep mixed herbaceous borders were created along the front of the house, combining Old English roses, silver foliage, purple flowering perennials and ornamental grasses. Dark green yew topiary provides the structure and rhythm, giving the scheme a formal backbone while allowing the planting to feel generous, romantic and alive.
The result is a frontage with real presence: grand enough for the architecture, but still warm, welcoming and rooted in the surrounding countryside.
